Free Read done! Yay

Slight change coming to Xander. Stay tuned…

bookcoverknoxx

I finished the free Valentine’s day read! Yay…*collapses*

I went completely cross-eyed last night and had no clue what I was writing, but I got it almost to the end, which was great. This morning another 500 words or so and it’s done, primped and tidied and available right here.  Simply click on the cover to download the PDF  *grin* (You may have to open another tab as some browers are freaking about the download…)

Blurb

Larissa has to escape.  Her only way out of a city about to implode under the rule of a new emperor, is the mysterious spirit magic of the Sardisians.
It could cost her a piece of her soul.  But the magician she finds wants more than that. Much more…

Enjoy! Oh and it’s naughty. You’ve been warned…

Talking to myself

At the minute, I have the luxury of the house to myself for about six hours during the week whilst the monsters are in school. As I potter about – yes, I am mobile without pain at the minute, yay – I talk over my latest wip to myself.

I realised as I sorted through my make-up bag this morning why I was having trouble with Ramius and Chance. So, I had a chat to myself about it. I don’t think I’m alone in doing this. Other writers do it. I hope…? *gulp*

Something about hearing, feeling the words makes the problem somehow more solvable. I realised why I wanted to head hop between the two characters. They were at a state of realisation. Both of them had to admit to themselves – but not each other, no way! lol – how they felt. They both needed to acknowledge this before I could move them into the final section of the story, where their feelings would get them into a whole heap of trouble! *grin*

So now I know what I have to layer in when I rewrite this couple of thousand words and what to take forward.

Sometimes it’s good to talk…to myself, hehe

Back, part two

Crappy, crappy, crappy Orange.  No sooner were we back on line, than it was down again.  The Ent ranted for a week, somebody pulled their finger out somewhere, and now we’re back again. Yay.  We were both seriously in withdrawal, lol

On the kidney front, I have only one hole left and it’s being a bugger and refusing to heal.  Practically all the pain is gone, but I have to restrict movements as everything seems to keep this bloody thing open.

And writing… I can give the hint of another sale, this time to Ellora’s Cave: Exotika 😀  I still have to sort out the details, and write a blurb, so more soon.

Now, I’m off to surf, surf, write and surf…

Back, back and back

WordPress lost my post *grrr*

Our internet connection is back after being off when I was in hospital.

My back has three holes in it and I’m finally flushing out the last of the morphine *blech*. And I’m back home, yay. I feel better without the constant fear of infection and now I’ll have the chance to have a proper sleep. I was only in there from Monday night, but it feels like forever *sigh*

The district nurse will be round tomorrow to change my dressings, which is another relief.

Me + blood = passed out Kim

Chosen One… it’s official

So I can reveal one of my recent sales… It’s called Chosen One working title Paladin and it’s been accepted for Ellora’s Cave’s ‘Creamy’ theme, out in August. Here’s the blurb:

Ceta Lars doesn’t want to be chosen.

It’s the dream of every candidate in the Schedir-prime temple…every candidate except her. Chained to the dark perfection of the sovereign’s paladin, the chosen one is taken aboard their master’s vast ship. Compounding her fear of the unknown is her attraction to the mysterious paladin. For years, her brief glimpses of him have tantalised her, stolen into her dreams, filled her thoughts. But he’s the one man she can’t have.

Now Ceta must stand with the other candidates, not knowing what the future holds as the paladin strides towards her.

She knows only one fact. None of the chosen return.

Yay, a sale!

Can’t spill all yet, until the contract’s again left my hot little hands *grin*  But I can say it was the wip formerly known as Reiver ~ my slightly different take on vampires, hehe.  The new titles are in the ether to the editor, so hopefully I can tell all soon 😀

Still writing… just

Chance is a story that does not want to be written.

I’ve plotted, I’ve printed it out, I’ve stuck it on my ereader to get a different feel for it… but it’s still only creeping up in the 100s of words. I can’t seem to make the break on it, the one that lets my fingers fly through it *sigh*

And with that moan out of the way, it’s back to the wip from hell 😉

Flesh and Shadows…an EC sale

So the contract has left my hot little hands and I can officially say I’m an EC author now *grin*

They contracted my ‘Succulent’ theme story FLESH AND SHADOWS. It’s due for release in May.
And thank you to Mima for the title. I love it! Can you tell I’m back in full-on *squeee* mode again, lol

This is the blurb:

Flesh-fruit. The First Minister’s favourite delicacy and, thanks to her boss, Agent Niamh Sullivan’s responsibility. A coup on the planet where it grows has forced a change of administrator. Now she must cross the quadrant to evaluate Zeta-Draconis-prime’s new leader, Isaac Rand. Rand intrigues her, tempts her…but she has her orders. Her duty comes first. Always has. Always will.

Rand has a secret. He’s been bitten by one of the deadly shadow-snakes who also share the planet and he’s changed. He will go to any lengths to see that he remains in charge of his planet, including using his alien abilities to convince Niamh to lie to her superiors. His plan is simple, but what he doesn’t realise is that his venom is an aphrodisiac. With it, Rand has become irresistible.

Now Niamh must deny their overwhelming mutual attraction. But as their need for each other spirals out of control the danger becomes apparent. Rand will take her humanity, take who and what she is. Niamh has to make the choice. Turn him in. Or succumb to his forbidden temptation.

Now I have to throw myself into cyberpunk yumminess. I have so much fun writing, it hardly seems decent 😉
