Another wip done

Chance – with a tentative new title of Breaking Chance – is finished and done with.  I’ll have to wait to sub this as it’s part of a group effort *grin*

And now it’s onto plotting Ruthless Beauty – a dark faerie anthology sub for Liquid Silver Books.

Ooh and Unity won Best Futuristic Romance novella to match the win for its cover from the Fantasm Awards. Double whammy! Yay Alena, Vadim and Sacha *grin*

Racing to a deadline

Sorry for the lack of posts…but I’m racing to a deadline to get my shifter story finished. Argh

Good news is that I sold Dark Host to Liquid Silver Books 😀

Here’s the blurb:

Feline Mosaic, Charis Sur, thought her mission aboard the INS Pagidion would be quick, easy: watch her target and keep him alive until Betelgeuse went nova.

Simple.

Well, until one of the passengers drops dead in front of her.

Her life depends on a successful mission and she has to protect her target from whatever killed this man. And that throws her into the path of Jason Narak. The one man she never wants to see again. The man who burned her six months before. Even as her past with Jason hurls her mission, her life into disarray, Charis finds that darkness is waiting for them aboard the INS Pagidion.

It wants a host. And its choice is growing…

And I have to run again!

Free Read done! Yay

Slight change coming to Xander. Stay tuned…

I finished the free Valentine’s day read! Yay…*collapses*

I went completely cross-eyed last night and had no clue what I was writing, but I got it almost to the end, which was great. This morning another 500 words or so and it’s done, primped and tidied and available right here.  Simply click on the cover to download the PDF  *grin* (You may have to open another tab as some browers are freaking about the download…)

Blurb

Larissa has to escape.  Her only way out of a city about to implode under the rule of a new emperor, is the mysterious spirit magic of the Sardisians.
It could cost her a piece of her soul.  But the magician she finds wants more than that. Much more…

Enjoy! Oh and it’s naughty. You’ve been warned…

Talking to myself

At the minute, I have the luxury of the house to myself for about six hours during the week whilst the monsters are in school. As I potter about – yes, I am mobile without pain at the minute, yay – I talk over my latest wip to myself.

I realised as I sorted through my make-up bag this morning why I was having trouble with Ramius and Chance. So, I had a chat to myself about it. I don’t think I’m alone in doing this. Other writers do it. I hope…? *gulp*

Something about hearing, feeling the words makes the problem somehow more solvable. I realised why I wanted to head hop between the two characters. They were at a state of realisation. Both of them had to admit to themselves – but not each other, no way! lol – how they felt. They both needed to acknowledge this before I could move them into the final section of the story, where their feelings would get them into a whole heap of trouble! *grin*

So now I know what I have to layer in when I rewrite this couple of thousand words and what to take forward.

Sometimes it’s good to talk…to myself, hehe

Great review for Lost Gods *grin*

I was in the edits weird place where I start to wonder if my writing sucks, lol, when my CP found this review for LOST GODS in the JERR newsletter:

Heat level: O

(Here’s a snippet)

Wow. Lost Gods is jammed packed with action, mystery, and definitely passion. I loved that I didn’t know who Katya was, until the very last minute, and that goes doubly for James. One minute I thought I had James down and the next he threw me for a loop. The uncertainty was exciting. The revelations were so well done that I never guessed at the truth of just who James was. This kept me on my toes and turning pages just to find the truth. The passion between Katya and James goes along well with the plot. There are no unexpected sex scenes or misplaced carnality. Overall, I recommend Lost Gods as a fast paced, science fiction thriller that kept my interest while allowing the romance and sexual tension to remain infused in the plot. This one’s a keeper.

How cool is that?

I want my back to heal…

…because then I could be rid of nurses, lolol

I’m having reactions to everything they put on my back, getting mixed messages from them every day and now – over two weeks after I had surgery – the bloody wound-which-will-not-heal is infected and hurting like a bugger.

They’ve also told me I have to go to a treatment centre from now on – though I’m arguing that. Me bouncing around on a bus with this leaky hole in my back? No sooner had they dressed it then I’d get home on a bus and it would need dressing again. It’d be a vicious circle and I’d never be out of the place *sigh*

Just seriously pissed off today *sigh*

Back, part two

Crappy, crappy, crappy Orange.  No sooner were we back on line, than it was down again.  The Ent ranted for a week, somebody pulled their finger out somewhere, and now we’re back again. Yay.  We were both seriously in withdrawal, lol

On the kidney front, I have only one hole left and it’s being a bugger and refusing to heal.  Practically all the pain is gone, but I have to restrict movements as everything seems to keep this bloody thing open.

And writing… I can give the hint of another sale, this time to Ellora’s Cave: Exotika 😀  I still have to sort out the details, and write a blurb, so more soon.

Now, I’m off to surf, surf, write and surf…
