7% and Rising – it’s out, go get it!

7% and Rising released from Samhain yesterday. I’m still playing catch up on telling everyone, lol

So here’s the blurb and the cover that I love so much I entered it into the New Covey Awards. It’ll be up in December

7 and Rising cover

He used her. She can’t trust him. But the fire burns between them hotter than ever.

For Level Seven Observer Cahn Dal, her mission is simple—on the surface. Travel 700 years into the past, alter a complicated equation that will assure the continuation of this timeline, and slip out unnoticed. Except someone else got there first, and he’s waiting for her. Alexander Roen. The man she has loved since she was a teenager, and, to her disgust, finds she still desires as hot and as hard as ever.

Roen, former Level One Observer, known traitor to the Foundation, and hampered by an old injury, needs Cahn’s help to find out who’s behind a massive conspiracy to alter the timeline. His body isn’t too broken, though, to forget his long-denied passion for Cahn.

Cahn reluctantly agrees to help find the one piece of evidence that will solve Roen’s puzzle. But when she finds it, barely escaping with her life, they find it isn’t the end.

It’s just the beginning of a deeper nightmare, one filled with monsters of unimaginable horror.

It’s available here

Hopefully, my Read More tag has worked and you can read an excerpt after the jump, lol

Kim and the Giant Kidney

And I thought I was just hung over.

Turns out I have a dilated kidney caused by a blockage.  So I’ve been in the hospital since early Monday morning.  The majority of the pain went away fairly soon after being admitted, so I escaped this afternoon, with meds (eventually *sigh*) and I have to go back as an out patient for tests.  These will determine whether my kidney can be repaired or whether it just has to go, lol

Not a good time for a release lol

Oops

Fracture did just that. Oops again.

It’s not a novella… it’s three, or possibly a short novel. Anyway, definitely what it isn’t is a 30k story that will be finished next week. Bugger. lol

So I’ve been looking at it again, to see what I need to change/add. I also need to work out a bit more of the structure of the final world Thalia and Patrick head off to as I’m struggling to get the ending. Of course that could also be the fact that I know the ending now has to be much longer.

I’m slow today as I went out with The Ent and some of Write Club. I’m past it. I only had three bottles of Budvar, but my kidney’s are aching and I’ve been mooching about all day. Argh.

Appointments away!

Made it to the doctor this morning, just about on time. It decided to rain heavily just as we left the house. Luckily Samwise’s Benji Bear was in a plastic bag and Frodo’s three dinosaurs were in my pocket. Benji Bear is a reward toy from Samwise’s pre-school. Samwise has him as an almost permanent attachment to his left armpit *sigh*

So we ended up with an optician’s appointment for Samwise in early January, via the NHS’s ‘choose and book’ scheme. You’re supposed to be able to do it online. The GP pointed out that only 3 people had actually managed this that she knew of, lol. Though this isn’t surprising as it’s not supported in Firefox or Safari…obviously it’s IE all the way! *grrr*

Frodo’s MRI she’s sending a letter for and talking to the Paediatrician. I have to call back in three weeks as the requests often go astray in the hospital system. Hopefully, he will get an MRI as simple observation and testing doesn’t seem to be getting the professionals anywhere fast. Might be the first time they can actually work out what Frodo’ss thinking 😉

On the Sven front. I was a bad monkey. I wrote 300 words yesterday and stopped to work out the rest of the plot. It’s the final act – odd the way this story has fallen neatly into a 3 act structure. Unfortunately, I fell asleep till…well…this morning. So I have still to plot and hopefully write. First I have to wait for Grandma Gandalf to arrive and entertain Samwise…

Seven Weird or Random things about me…

I’ve been tagged by Lesley! (And I’ve finally got around to posting mine, lol)

Here are the rules:

Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

I’m going for random and weird:

  1. I’m a fanfiction addict.
  2. I have two head lines on my right hand.
  3. I can’t tell my right from my left. Really. At all.  So the above statement may not be reliable…
  4. I’ve been inside three pyramids and felt safest in the Collapsed one.
  5. I touched a stone at Avebury and had really freakish dreams that night.
  6. I love to write gory stories, but faint at the sight of blood.
  7. And finally… I have a birthmark under my hair that my mother told me about while we were watching Damien: Omen II… *mwahahaha*

And I’m going to tag less than 7:

The Ent

Jennie Andrus

Dawn Montgomery

Aline de Chevigny

Tired out

Got back late from The Ent’s parents’ Silver Wedding Anniversary meal (no, The Ent is not a toy boy…would I get that lucky? 😉 ) and we’ve spent the day generally vegging.

I dragged out 750 words on Fracture when all that I wanted to do was watch the Top 40 Spice Girl songs.  Yes, that’s how much I didn‘t want to write.  Absolutely anything was preferable.  But they’re done and the story is heading for the 20k mark, which means I must get a reward ready, *grin*

Now I have to watch The Sarah Jane Adventures.  Just to keep the hobbits company of course…

I might start writing today

The lurgy is still with me – though now it’s settled into an annoying cough and my voice as gone all deep and husky, lmao

I’ve been working on Fracture, mainly trying to beef up the relationship of the two leads before I plunge into the last part of the story.  They’re not playing… *sigh*

And today, after much argument I finally managed to make an appointment at my doctors.  God forbid you should want to go there at a time that’s almost convenient to you *grrr*  I want a referral for Samwise’s eyes – he was short sighted as a baby and we were told to get him checked again when he was three.  I also want to get an MRI scan for Frodo.

It’s a major step, but since the-most-unprofessional-paediatrician-in-the-world has labelled him ADHD (with no explanation why and wants to throw Ritalin down his throat) we’re going with another’s view that an MRI might achieve something in finding out what’s wrong with him.

It got me

I’ve been fighting a cold for about a fortnight, but today it finally pinned me down and stuffed me full of mucus. Joy.

I did struggle out to the post office and put Dark Host in the post to Brava. And I’ve added to the word count of both Fracture and Chosen, so now I might have to curl up in a mound of soggy tissues and quietly veg. *blech*
