Just about awake…

I had to take the hobbits to a friend of Frodo’s birthday party at the usual soft play centre. The Ent had buggered off to a town outside Mordor to met up with his friends from long ago. The centre is of course not accessible by bus ๐Ÿ˜‰ so I had to go by taxi.

Frodo – who doesn’t get invited to many parties because of his disability – said he had a great time. ๐Ÿ˜€ We walked to the bus station and an hour later- with two complaining hobbits in toe- we got the bus home.

All of us were asleep by nine, lol

So absolutely no writing down yesterday ๐Ÿ˜‰

Personal Writing Challenge ~ update

It’s been a while sinceย  I posted about this, though I have been updating the PWC page in the side column.

I’ve started Nano… and it seems to happen every time: something about knowing I have to get 1667 a day out come hell or high water, makes me write crap.ย  It just does.ย  I’m working on Paladin, a submission for the ‘creamy’ Ellora’s Cave theme, which has to be in for 1 Jan 2009.ย  I had to hack it apart last night, thicken the descriptions, the characters so that I could write the next part.ย  I know that’s illegal in the NaNoWriMo world, but if I didn’t I probably wouldn’t write much more on it, lol

So my Nano total so far (including days few words) is: 4384

My PWC total is 279 509. That’s 63 292 since I started about 7 weeks ago. Not bad ๐Ÿ˜€

Sven is back!

After a long absence… Sven is back! I’ve signed up. Anything that gets me accountable for putting words in a wip is fine by me. I have the Whiskey Shot and Nano to support me too, lol. I have to plot out stalled stories tonight as my head hurts too much to write ๐Ÿ˜‰

So with Sven comes the obligatory motivational icons. Here’s the first:

Personal Writing Challenge ~ Update

Wolf-blood is creeping over 28k now, with possible another 12k to go. Maybe more.ย  this could be another endless, endless wip like Fracture, lmao.ย  I do hope not though.

I’ve had a rest from it for a few days and started a short on space demons – with the exciting working title of Demons – which is clipping along at the moment.ย  This one will finish.ย  It’s probably a max word count of 15k.ย  I haven’t written anything that short in a while *grin*

So my total since I started the Personal Writing Challenge on 16 September is 260 890.ย  That works out as 44 673 in just over a month, which isn’t bad at all *grin*

Lost Gods has a Cover *grin*

Isn’t it yum? *grin*

Blurb
Frozen for decades on an abandoned asteroid, Katya Ortaega thaws and collapses at the feet of the most deliciously sinful man she has ever seenโ€ฆ she thinks.

Katyaโ€™s problem is her memory–she hasnโ€™t got one. Her mind is blank. And now sheโ€™s stuck on a drilling platform with James Kinsare, a man who has her skin tingling and sometimes not in a good way. James is not who he appears to be and she can’t trust him… even as she finds him far too attractive.

All too soon, her past rears in the form of a man intent on killing both of them and now they have to work together to stay alive. However, Katya’s memories begin to resurface. And James Kinsare, the man who’s kept her alive against all the odds, the man whoโ€™s thawing her frozen heart, he might prove to be the biggest threat of all.

Personal Writing Challenge ~ Update

My respiratory tract infection didn’t – hasn’t gone away. So I’ve been feeling fairly crappy for a month. It’ll be a joy at some point to actually stop coughing. Because of this, my kidney surgery didn’t go ahead and I’ve asked if it can be scheduled after Christmas. It’s elective and the surgeon’s secretary seemed fine with that.

So to take my mind of continuously coughing, I’ve been writing. Mostly it’s been on Wolf-blood, which stands at 23k. I’ve also been slogging my way through the edits of Lost Gods. I love this story, but edits are hard. I have to think so much more than when I’m writing, lol, and my brain is mostly mush at the minute.

So my total since I started the Personal Writing Challenge is: 250 506. Which in three weeks is: 34 289. This probably has everything to do with the character of Fitz. He’s kept me occupied and distracted from coughing, lol for a fortnight now.

Personal Writing Challenge – Update

So…the first week of the PWC and I’ve managed to write – OMG – 10 890. Wow. I didn’t think it was quite that much, lol

I may get more written in October than I thought too, as my cough and cold has still not shifted. If I’m not fighting fit by next Tuesday, then my surgery won’t go ahead. And I have no clue how far into the future they’ll reschedule it *sigh*
