I might start writing today

The lurgy is still with me – though now it’s settled into an annoying cough and my voice as gone all deep and husky, lmao

I’ve been working on Fracture, mainly trying to beef up the relationship of the two leads before I plunge into the last part of the story.  They’re not playing… *sigh*

And today, after much argument I finally managed to make an appointment at my doctors.  God forbid you should want to go there at a time that’s almost convenient to you *grrr*  I want a referral for Samwise’s eyes – he was short sighted as a baby and we were told to get him checked again when he was three.  I also want to get an MRI scan for Frodo.

It’s a major step, but since the-most-unprofessional-paediatrician-in-the-world has labelled him ADHD (with no explanation why and wants to throw Ritalin down his throat) we’re going with another’s view that an MRI might achieve something in finding out what’s wrong with him.

It got me

I’ve been fighting a cold for about a fortnight, but today it finally pinned me down and stuffed me full of mucus. Joy.

I did struggle out to the post office and put Dark Host in the post to Brava. And I’ve added to the word count of both Fracture and Chosen, so now I might have to curl up in a mound of soggy tissues and quietly veg. *blech*

November hit today

I’m glad I’m inside today. It’s wild, wet and blustery out there.

I’ve nothing much to blog about at the minute, as I am mostly writing, LOL Fracture is (hopefully) past the half way point. I was attacked by plot bunnies on Monday which threatened to drag the story into a novel, but I think I have them culled now 😉 And Chosen is moving on v-e-r-y  s-l-o-w-l-y, but at least its moving…

Yes, it’s definitely Mondays

I struggle to write on a Monday morning. The words just won’t flow. But I have managed to scrape out about 766 words when I really wanted to do anything but.

Does this Monday morning reluctance mean that my subconscious is treating this as my job…? Actually that’s quite cool. *grin*

And for some reason when I came in to edit the spelling ( I wrote in a hurry, sue me 😉 )it ate half the post. My interwebby connections have been decidedly odd for the past few days. Now I have to edit a short story for Freya’s Bower, write something on Chosen and then, since I got over the 10k mark with 300+ to spare, the Colonel is mine for the day… *smirk*

7% and Rising

The final line edits are away. Reading through the story, I do like this one, LOL It’s been with me for a while. Hints of storyline and characters chipping away at me until I had write the bloody thing, LOL

Here’s a snippet:

Cahn accelerated. She was tortured, dead. Dead if they caught her. Not thinking. Her feet pounded. The Staff roared, but she ignored it. Definitely not thinking.

The endless blue of the Attic sky shone above her. The gleam of marble caught in the fresh sunlight. There was only the promise of the hard, rocky earth far, far below.

Falling. Falling. Air rushed from her lungs. Her heart screamed—

And on the Sven front: I got about 1k written on Fracture and about 700 words on Chosen. So a good day. *grin*

5k on Fracture

Woot! I just finished up chapter 2 on Fracture. That took me about 100 words over my daily count and about 200 words over the 5k mark. So I get a reward *smirk*:

Colonel Reward Icon

Hopefully, I’ll get The Honourable Lady finished up today/tomorrow too *grin*

:::EDITED:::

Yep I finished The Honourable Lady very unexpectedly this afternoon. My incentive to finish was to make another Reward Icon, LOL. I’m waiting on screencaps from ‘Doppleganger’. Saw that last night, and sad woman that I am I was looking for scenes I could steal, hehe

Hey, if it gets me writing, I’m happy to be this sad *snicker*

Still plugging away

The weather’s started to change, so my sinuses are in revolt. *sigh*  I made the mistake of taking a Sinutab and my head went of in fifteen directions at once.  I got no writing done after that.  Luckily, I’d got about 750 written on Fracture and about 400 words on The Honourable Lady.

I have my word count done on Fracture this morning, despite the arrival of Grandma Gandalf who talked at me no stop, LOL  Not conducive to writing rudeness with your mother going into detail about the enormous size of her beef and ale pie and glowworms in New Zealand 😉

So to give myself a reward, I made a Colonel Reward Icon for the 5k mark on Fracture.  Hopefully I’ll get to post it tomorrow *grin*

The clocks have gone back…

…and did I get any benefit from it?  No *sigh*

The hobbits got up even earlier and though they went to bed an hour before they usually do, they didn’t go to sleep.  The good news today is that school/pre-school starts again. YAY  Hopefully by the time the next school holiday swings around, we’ll have a garden finished enough so that they can work off their considerable energy there, rather than in the house.  I never had their energy, both The Ent and I are convinced of it, LOL

On the Sven front:  I got just over a 1k written on Fracture.  Fingers crossed that I carry on at this rate and it’s finished up by the end of November *grin*
