I’m on a countdown

I had the joy of going to hospital again yesterday. 😀

We had to take the hobbits with us to the appointment and were severely tutted at my three generations of women in the waiting area. They had a genetic propensity for turning their noses up and their mouths down, so it probably wasn’t their fault that they had to complain 😉 And, well, Samwise is bloody annoying at the best of times.

The upshot is, my kidney surgery goes ahead on 30 September and I’ll be in hospital for about three or four days. Which will be fun. Then I’ll be a weakling for a good few weeks , vaguely waving a hand for cups of tea as I suffer on the couch watching oodles of Stargate Atlantis… hehe

No writing today

It’s a *blech* day today…even thinking about my wips evokes a heavy, sinking feeling of utter crappiness, so I think I’m going to hide.

I’m off to buy Frodo some Doctor Who figures this afternoon. That might make me feel better… 😉

Where we used to go…

Yep, there used to be a time before children, when we went to placed like this:

The Ent and I have been in the Red Pyramid. We had to wander around the outside of the Bent Pyramid as it was too dangerous to go inside. Oddly enough, the Collapsed Pyramind (not shown here, *grin*) felt the most solid inside.

Happy Bastille Day

Fluttery French Tricolour

I’m not French in any way, shape or form but this is one date that always sticks in my mind. I did A level History…and w-a-y too much on the French Revolution. That has to be my excuse.

Fuedalism was abolished a few weeks after the storming of the Bastille but I seem to remember it as being a symbolic act of defiance. There were only 3 or 4 prisoners within its walls…and possibly a goat. *grin*
