So, I’m on the finally final scene of Past Lies… and then one line pops into my head (want to say frond… way too much Stargate watching in my life, *sigh*).
And then it hits me. How the end can be achieved and how it ties into the rest of the book. It had been sitting there the entire time. Waiting for me to notice. It was a complete d’oh moment, LOL
I love my subconscious. Does tonnes more work than I do *grin*
The end of Past Lies is in sight. YAY
Just about 2.5k to write and then the final-edit-run-through type thing, to make certain that it all ties together and makes sense…

Started writing the end of Past Lies and I realised I did need the two flashbacks that I thought I could get away with not putting in. Having them in made the story flow again.
I spent this morning, before flashbacking, looking at hotels in Rome.
The Ent suggested that we could go on holiday next year. Just the two of us, for a couple of days.
So this is the place I was looking at. Probably noisy, with a 25 line motorway out side. But I think the view more than compensates, don’t you?
I zapped Past Lies over to Samhain today. I should hear the verdict the end of October… It’s the partial. The whole thing should be finished fairly soon. Hurrah.
Which is handy, as there is a byzantine fantasy that’s calling again…
I worked out a method for writing longer stories… I’ve probably been doing it for a while, but it’s only just become conscious. I’m a gut-writer. I plan out what’s going to happen, but often have no idea how it will all tie together. That it does is often a great surprise to me, LOL
Anyway, Past Lies is storming to the end. And again I’m having trouble. So I did what I did with The Bone Magician’s Daughter. I went back and began to tie up every lose end, write in and research every point where I’d left an asterisk – usually with the words *insert sex scene here* hehe So the ms will be totally clean and I’ll have a rounded view of the motives and state of the characters in the big end moment.
Seems to be working. I have the big *cough* scene to write in (doing that today) a couple of flashbacks that tieing it all up created and then I’ll be ready to write the end.
I do the ** in the text because sometimes I’ll just lose momentum if I have to write something difficult. I learnt it from NaNoWriMo last year, I realised. Write a comment and move on.
So… Past Lies should be done with soon. I hope to sub the full thing… but looking at it now, realistically… the partial to my editor this week. (My editor -still a little *squee* moment)
She’s off on a cruise, lucky thing, and is taking stories to read.
And now I’m back to rather rude goings on, first thing on a Monday morning.
It’s such a hard life 😉
I’m whizzing through Past Lies today. Tidying up the the missed bits and making the story flow. Then I get to write the end. Which will be fun… *grin*
And the insane new reality just keeps rolling on. I’m #2!
