Daz, Photoshop and Stock Images for this one 🙂

SATIN SPAR

A tail has its advantages. Especially a prehensile one.

With her marbled skin and stunted tail, Scar stands out. And there’s something else, something she holds secret. Her Caraniae DNA has a strange effect on the male of any species. She can’t risk her wayward pheromones bonding her to one man. To the wrong man. Forever.

That’s the danger of her boss’s new bodyguard, the mysterious and oh-so-pure-blood human, Antony Tyler.

And he’s working her tail ragged…

A call from home draws them together, draws them into something wildly sexual. Something so wrong as to be suicidal—if Scar’s father discovers she’s bonded with anyone other than the husband he’s forcing her to marry…

Stranded

Stranded

I was sorting through Daz content that I hadn’t used…and this happened.

I do love to play it retro 🙂

I’ve also working on a mixture of stuff for post working. I was layering in light , rendering each individual light source, but that, whilst giving great control, makes for so many laborious renders and huge Photoshop files.

Then I stumbled over canvases, where you have layers generated within the Daz render. They are also huge files and I trash them after I’ve used them in an image. My harddrive is struggling as it is! I’m finding using canvases very hit and miss. What will work like a dream for one image is a hot mess for another.

This image has one, maybe two canvases at a low opacity. Mostly this is good old dodge and burn.

Onwards to finding a system and a style that works for me!

Space Medusa

Space Medusa

I’ve been bad at not updating here. My Instagram account is a good place to catch up.

And the light on this one was a bit of a mare.

I’m still flailing my way around Daz Studio, so I may have it wrong, but I had to delete a shedload of lights that came with this Scifi background. There was an egregious amount and my machine can only take 8. After that, there was lots of fiddling with dome settings and the annoyance that is the Sun-Sky thing…

I am happy with the end result though. This image has no post work on it and I think it stands up okay.

Cyborg-4

Cyborg-4

A practice piece for lighting exterior backgrounds. I’ve always had trouble lighting this particular model’s skin too. And I kitbashed, as the cyborg add-ons completely ignore the torso, which is odd.

The complete thing is a bit 60s scifi, but *shrug* 😉

Btw, I was supposed to be making a new webbanner…and than Nix 8 appeared. Oops?

Cyborg-3

Cyborg-4

My troubles with lighting big, outdoor scenes continues.

There was a lot more post work on this than there was on the last cyborg.

It also affected the DoF and the wonder that is the DoF plane opacity. And I gave this about 3 hours to render. It needed another two at least. So I know this for the next time.

Onwards and upwards!

Now I have to do that writing thing. You know the one that enables me to indulge in my new Daz3d obsession…? 😉
