A practice piece for lighting exterior backgrounds. I’ve always had trouble lighting this particular model’s skin too. And I kitbashed, as the cyborg add-ons completely ignore the torso, which is odd.
The complete thing is a bit 60s scifi, but *shrug* 😉

My troubles with lighting big, outdoor scenes continues.
There was a lot more post work on this than there was on the last cyborg.
It also affected the DoF and the wonder that is the DoF plane opacity. And I gave this about 3 hours to render. It needed another two at least. So I know this for the next time.
Onwards and upwards!
Now I have to do that writing thing. You know the one that enables me to indulge in my new Daz3d obsession…? 😉

And I discovered a camera focusing tool.
All hail Near DOF Plane Visibility and its Opacity slider. I can see where the focus is, rather than holding up a wet finger to the wind.
I admit to squeeing.
Also I uped the rendering time by an hour, which seems to have worked better too as there’s minimal Photoshoping on this image.
Now I’m away to that thing called writing now… 😉
Oh, I had w-a-y too much fun with blending layers in Photoshop with this one. It seems to work though.
And every cyborg should have a scruffy little friend…

Making it in here today with an image by the skin of my teeth! lol
Nothing was working. Everything was overcomplicated…so I went back to basics. Figure and light.
What I really like is that the hair is original Genesis–and it was free!! (everything else is Genesis 8) and it really works as a slicked hair look. I admit to a bounce and a squee (so mature) when I saw the first iray of it.

The light was giving me problems…but I’ve got it where I like it. I could go lighter, but I prefer her eyes being the brightest point. Photoshop ftw 🙂

I bought new lighting sets–they were ridiculously cheap–and I’ve been playing about with them. Not as happy with the result on this as the old way I was lighting, which did give me a more flexible palate…so we’ll see how it goes.
This image was inspired by my wip. Yes, I’ve been writing. Proper words and everything. We live in strange times…

Teenage-artist-me would’ve spent weeks painting this…and never getting it quite how I wanted it.
Now I have a finished image made with a mouse–the odd scream–and a flurry of clicks. So I’m very happy.
